I love Awakening, but when I was trying to get my friend into Fire Emblem with it, I realized how dated it is. She understandably lost interest after an hour. Awakening came out over 7 years ago. Three houses has full voice acting and expressive animations. Awakening has still images and occasional voiced one-liners.

Awakening got 89 votes (53.29%), while Fates got 78 votes (46.71%). So Awakening is slightly more popular, but in general the board is split. I noticed though that there were two "general" lines of opposing opinions regarding Awakening vs Birthright that kept coming up.
